A coordinated approach to wealth & taxes

One of the biggest threats to retirement isn't market volatility but fragmented advice. You shouldn't have to act as a messenger forced to transmit information back and forth between your financial advisor, accountant, and estate attorney.

That's where we come in, acting as your financial quarterback and coordinating your team so the pieces work together instead of in isolation. A simple example? We’ll work directly with your accountant (or our sister company, Advisor Tax Prep) so your investment strategy and tax return pull in the same direction and you can keep more of what you've spent a lifetime building.

This coordination isn’t occasional either. Regular strategy meetings and ongoing communication keep your advisor, accountant, and estate attorney aligned on your goals as life evolves. You’ll receive clear updates on what matters, and we’ll handle the follow-ups so you don't have to be the middleman.

What this looks like when it goes wrong

The Siloed Portfolio

Two advisors, no coordination, a $30K+ tax surprise

A client came to us after a painful April. Two advisors at different firms had each been actively managing a portion of this person's portfolio — operating in complete silos. Neither talked to the other, and the accountant wasn't looped in until the return was being prepared. The combined realized gains pushed the client into a higher bracket and triggered a surprise tax bill of more than $30,000 — most of it avoidable through loss harvesting, staged trades, or a single pre-year-end conversation with the CPA.

The Reactive CPA

The Roth conversion the CPA said no to

A 64-year-old client's CPA, looking only at this year's return, advised against a $75,000 Roth conversion because of the immediate ~$22,000 NJ tax hit. What the CPA couldn't see: future RMDs, an IRMAA Medicare surcharge, and surviving-spouse single-filer brackets would make not converting cost well into five figures over the long run. A CPA reacts to this year's return; a fiduciary advisor anticipates the next twenty.

The Unasked Question

The NJ inheritance tax no one saw coming

A client's brother passed away last year — single, no children, with his sister as beneficiary. In NJ, siblings fall into "Class C" and are taxed at 11–16% above a $25,000 exemption. The brother had worked for years with a financial advisor, a CPA, and an estate attorney — each competent, each tending to their own corner. But not one of them had ever started the conversation about her eventual tax bill, or taken lifetime steps that could have substantially reduced it — annual gifting, life insurance to a named beneficiary (NJ-exempt), or restructured asset passage. The planning window was open for years. No one opened it.

CFP® professional

Dedicated CFP® professional guidance

You're not assigned a rotating representative or call-center voice but partnered with a dedicated CFP® professional: the same advisor across the services you use.

CFP® certification requires meeting rigorous standards for education, experience, and ethics. Just as important, it means your advisor sees how the pieces connect: how one decision — like when to claim Social Security or how to cover healthcare before Medicare — ripples through the rest of your plan.

Ongoing fiduciary partnership

The Vision experience isn't a one-time event but an ongoing partnership including…

Year-round tax monitoring

Spotting opportunities such as Roth conversions and tax-loss harvesting throughout the year, not just when it’s time to file

Investment oversight

Providing disciplined management across market cycles

Estate & legacy strategy

Helping to align your plan (coordinating with your estate attorney) so your wealth passes to your preferred people and causes
